Quiet
"Quiet", 2009
Oil on linen on board, 14.6 x 14.6 cm (6 x 6 inches)
SOLD
Hello there, its been a long time between posting paintings...I've been quite unwell these past few months but thankfully, I seem to be finding my feet again. The urge to paint never leaves me, and now that I've finished this little work, I feel somehow complete again and able to get back into painting as before.
I remain interested in Film Noir and the genre's dramatic lighting that focuses on people together with an interaction with their surroundings. I have always enjoyed giving life to the inanimate object, in this case the corridors within a building via dramatic lighting.
I hope you enjoy my latest work and thank you for visiting my blog.

Welcome back, Diane! I'm glad to hear that you are better and are back painting again. What a wonderful, mysterious painting this is. Your use of values and shapes to create patterns is terrific. My eyes can't stop roaming all over it!
Best wishes for a complete recovery.
Judy
What a delicious feast for the eyes this one is Dianne; oh the stories that corridor could tell. Love it!
I'm so glad you're back :)
Good to see you and your paintings back again Dianne. Hope you are well.
Glad to see you back.
Interesting suggestive work- happy to know that you're doing well!
A great weekend to you Dianne.
Thanks Judy, for you well wishes and comments on my painting, I really appreciate it.
AR2P...you'd be right there, many many stories, hopefully there is a new one right behind that door too!
Hey Simon....thanks, trying my hardest to get back to my roughly once a week completed small painting again.
Thanks M. :)
Hey there Pierre, thanks for stopping by and your well wishes. I always take a look into see what you are up to on your blog...enjoy seeing what the latest is.
Welcome back Dianne.
Love the feel of this one. There is something so amazing about monotone, specially black and white as with photos. I wonder that it is? Perhaps its because it leaves the imagination room to move.
cheers
Mike
