Squeak Doll
"Squeak Doll", 2008, Oil on linen on board, 14.6 x 14.6cm (5 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches)
SOLD
An early American Squeak Doll made by the Sun Rubber Co and designed by Ruth E. Newton. I have found conflicting information about the dates these dolls were manufactured, some say 1960's others much earlier. I think its a very interesting object with a great character.

OMG I SO want this one!
Please someone get in here and buy it quick before I totally wreck my family budget!!!
I seriously need to think about finding myself a 4th job to fund my habit...
ARP, thanks for your great enthusiasm for my work as always. I'm very pleased that the work has gone to a good home now and in the household resides a little girl who looks just like the doll.
That's really nice to hear Dianne. As I couldn't buy it at this time I'm glad it's gone to a home where a little girl will get to enjoy it :)
These little toy paintings are so cool. They look like fun to paint but they don't look too manly. Do they have bullrider dolls?
I really like the simplicity of this painting..great work..
